Custom technology development
Custom technology development
When buying off the shelf does not fit, we design and ship production-grade software for educational businesses.
More than twelve years operating in international education across the Middle East and South Asia.
A multilingual platform delivered in English, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, and Hindi.
Founder is a current MSc student at Oxford Saïd Business School.
Capability areas
Production-grade software for educational businesses
Drawing on direct experience building and operating educational platforms in international markets, we design and ship the surfaces and the infrastructure that institutions need when off-the-shelf solutions cannot deliver.
AI assessment
Criterion-decomposed marking for writing and speaking, calibrated against held-out examiner-scored sets, with fail-closed safety so the marker never invents a score when input is unusable.
Retrieval chatbots
Counsellor and support bots grounded in your institutional content, with citations on every answer. If the source library does not cover a question, the bot says so rather than guess.
Course matching engines
Recommendation surfaces that pair a student profile to programmes in your catalogue, with the rules of the match written down and visible to your operations team.
Multilingual platforms
English, Arabic with right-to-left layout, Mandarin Chinese, and Hindi, designed for parity across languages. Translations mirror the source rather than introducing claims that are not in the original.
Document intelligence
Credential verification, visa-document checks, and reference parsing, structured so a human reviewer can override the model and the override is recorded.
Admissions infrastructure
Student dashboards, application tracking, intake-management tooling, and bespoke admissions workflows that fit the way you actually run the programme.
How we work technically
Founder-led engineering, shipped in the open
Founder-led engineering
The founder is the engineering point of contact on every build. There is no account-management layer between you and the people writing the software.
Frequent demos
Working software on a regular cadence, rather than slide decks. You see what is built as it is built, and you steer the next iteration based on what you actually use.
Production-grade from day one
Every build runs on the same standards as a live deployment. Authentication, row-level security, encrypted storage, and named jurisdictions for student data are not bolted on at the end.
Written change log
Every change is recorded in writing. Your operations team knows what shipped, when it shipped, and what changed for the candidate.
Clear live versus in-progress status
We say in plain English what is live, what is in pilot, and what is still in development. Nothing is promised before it works end-to-end on a real account.
What our stack looks like
Tools we trust to outlive the engagement
We use industry-standard tooling so the platforms we build for you can be maintained by any competent engineering team. The orchestration, the prompts, the data, and the brand stay with you.
Next.js
App Router, server components, image optimisation.
TypeScript
End-to-end typed, from database schema to client component.
React
Component-driven interfaces, server-rendered by default for speed.
Tailwind CSS
Design tokens defined per project, themed to your brand from the first commit.
Postgres
Relational storage with vector extensions for retrieval and matching.
Cloudflare R2
Object storage for candidate audio, documents, and media.
Microsoft Azure
Managed AI services for assessment, speech recognition, and translation.
Vercel
Hosting with preview deployments per commit and edge caching.
Who this is for
Institutions, partners, and operators
For anyone who needs custom software that off-the-shelf solutions cannot deliver, and who wants a partner that ships working software rather than slide decks.
Institutions
Universities, test centres, prep schools, and ministries who need custom software that off-the-shelf platforms cannot deliver.
Partners and operators
Agent networks, examination programmes, and scholarship leaders building bespoke infrastructure to run their programmes.
Edtech businesses
Founders and operators who need production-grade software shipped quickly, with clear ownership of the code, the data, and the brand.
Student data sits in named jurisdictions in the United Kingdom and the European Union by default. We do not train models on your data. We delete on request. A Data Processing Agreement is available before any data moves.
Questions we get
Honest answers, before the call
Who owns the intellectual property
You do. The bespoke software we build for you, the content, the configuration, and the data, all belong to your business. We retain rights only to the general patterns and the underlying tooling that we reuse across clients, which we make clear at the start of the engagement.
How does code handover work
We can operate the platform for you on a managed basis, hand the codebase to your engineering team, or run a hybrid in which we keep the AI components and your team owns the rest. The shape of the handover is agreed at the start, written into the engagement letter, and not changed without a new agreement.
Is ongoing maintenance available
Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance on a retained basis, either as a fixed monthly fee or as a pay-as-you-go arrangement. We will tell you honestly when a build is stable enough that ongoing maintenance is not required, rather than create work that does not need to exist.
How is security handled
Student data sits in named jurisdictions in the United Kingdom and the European Union by default. Encryption in transit and at rest. Row-level security on every table from day one. Isolated storage buckets per client. A Data Processing Agreement is available on request before any data moves.
Do you train models on our data
No. We do not train models on your candidate work, your documents, or your operational data. Managed AI services are configured so that customer data is not used to train provider models. This is written into the engagement.
How is the work priced
Custom technology development is priced against a written brief. We size the deal in the first call rather than publish a fixed number, because every brief is different. We do not start work until the brief, the price, and the timeline are all agreed in writing.
Talk about a technical brief
Twenty minutes, free, no obligation. Tell us what you are trying to build, and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right partner.
