Is Co Lab Education really free for students?
Yes, completely. We earn our revenue through commissions paid by universities when a student enrols. Students pay nothing to use our platform, speak to our advisors, or receive application support. That model is the same as any education agent — the difference is we share the commission with you.
How is the education grant calculated?
When you enrol, the university pays Co Lab an agent commission. This varies by university and programme but typically ranges from £2,800 to £5,000 for a postgraduate course. We return 50% or more of that commission to you as your education grant. The exact figure is shown on each course page before you apply.
When exactly do I receive the grant?
Within 3 months of your enrolment being confirmed by the university and your first tuition payment clearing. We will notify you by email as soon as the transfer is initiated.
Do I need to stay enrolled for the full year to keep the grant?
Yes. The grant is conditional on completing your first academic year of study. If you withdraw before completing the year, the grant may be recovered. This condition exists because the university commission is tied to your full enrolment. We explain this clearly in our Terms of Service.
Which universities are on Co Lab?
We work with 25+ accredited UK universities including institutions in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds, and Bristol. All partners are registered with the UKVI as licensed sponsors and recognised by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
Can I still apply directly to a university after using Co Lab?
You can, but you would not receive the grant if you apply directly. The grant is funded by the agent commission that the university pays Co Lab when you enrol through our platform. Applying directly does not trigger that payment.
What if the university rejects my application?
We will work with you to identify alternative courses and re-apply. Our advisors have strong relationships with admissions teams and can often find pathways that are not visible through UCAS. There is no limit on how many courses you can apply to through Co Lab.
