Apply to UK universities through UCAS (for undergraduate) or directly to the university (for postgraduate). Many UK universities accept Chinese Gaokao scores as an undergraduate entry qualification — check your target university's requirements.
Receive your CAS from your UK university after accepting an unconditional or conditional offer that has become unconditional.
Gather all required documents including financial evidence, English language results (IELTS/TOEFL/Duolingo), and academic transcripts. Bank statements must cover 28 consecutive days.
Complete the UKVI Student visa application at gov.uk. Pay the visa application fee and Immigration Health Surcharge — check gov.uk for current amounts as these change periodically.
Book a biometric appointment at a Visa Application Centre in China — available in major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang, and others.
Attend your biometrics appointment with all original documents and your appointment confirmation.
Await a decision (typically around 3 weeks for standard applications). Collect your Biometric Residence Permit from your UK university within 10 days of arrival.
